Amendments to the Statutes, Strategy Paper, Rules of Procedure: drafts

We will present three important papers at the Annual General Meeting on 31.10.2020.

The Statutes contains proposed changes that have proven to be more appropriate since the founding of the association. The most important points: new membership form "partner member", new executive area "extended board", a graduated right of representation of the board in terms of value, extension of the term of office of the board to 2 years (instead of 1). A 2/3 majority at the meeting would be necessary for a new version of the statutes.

The Strategy paper gives an answer to the question in which direction our practical intentions should go. Are we a loose circle of friends who want to answer general questions about colour? Are we developing new technology, researching new solutions at the limits of what is possible? Are we a colour advisory board on design? Are we politically right-wing, left-wing, ecological or market-liberal? Answer: all and nothing of the sort, our orientation lies outside the aforementioned maintreams - it fills a real gap in the system. Our job is: with our severely limited resources, how can we sustainably change the unfree world of colour for the better? Answer: it can be done, we just need to address the right set screws and not get caught in any of the many petty pitfalls. There are an incredible number of market gaps for free colour! As a non-profit association, we cannot carry out commercial free colour developments for profit ourselves, but we support such projects among our members and third parties to the best of our ability.

Thirdly, we would like to see a Rules of Procedure introduce. It coordinates internal cooperation, e.g. the question of payment for work, reimbursement of costs or responsibilities: who discusses and decides which issues? Secondly, the rules of procedure regulate questions of naming and licensing when publishing freieFarbe materials.

For our members: Take part in the discussion and decision-making process so that our future work is built on a solid ideological foundation.

The draft statutes can still be changed until the end of September 2020, the other two papers until the Annual General Meeting.
